This gorgeous 'Silver Stream' silk scarf is now available for order!

The silk was printed with a pattern of one of Siyuan Ren's paintings - "Peony Portrait: Yellow". The painting's peony was created using the Chinese gongbi technique.  Click here to read more about it.

The colour of the scarf - PANTONE 17-5104 Ultimate Gray - was announced as Pantone's colour of the year, making it an interesting proposition for artists who want to make a statement. 

Composition: 100% silk, weight: 12-momme for small and 16-momme for large. 
A momme is a unit of measurement used only for silk fabrics weight. 

The large scarf was made using 16-momme silk - the highest recommended weight for a scarf. We chose it to create an excellent and durable scarf that is still soft, smooth and very light at the same time. Wrap yourself in its truly luxurious and velvety softness!

The small scarf was made using 12-momme silk - an optimal weight for this size, making the scarf light and versatile. The fabric is both high-quality and soft, which allows you to experiment with different ways of folding, tying and wearing it!

The peony shown on the scarf is Sonoma Velvet Ruby - chosen in our project "Peony of the Month" to be featured in May, during our visit to Royal Hospital Chelsea. A limited-edition print of this peony painting was offered as a gift to Hospital.

The scarf is a beautiful addition to both an elegant and casual outfit, and pale pastel greens and deep reds of peony blossoms create a charming combination.

This artwork was meticulously crafted over the course of one month, with the artist dedicating 10 to 12 hours of painting each day to achieve its intricate details and vibrant depth. The result is a piece that brings an air of refined beauty and storytelling into any space.

The two-piece painting started from an idea of a field covered with blossoming peonies - beautiful and soft, inviting for a barefoot walk. 

Over time, the painting gradually evolved. First, a window frame was added alongside a vase with fresh herbaceous peonies to create an effect as if someone was living next to a peony field. Then, branch shadows were added to create a dreamy, romantic feeling.

With this painting, one can feel as if they lived next to a stunning peony field which stays full of sweet fragrance and colourful flowers turning towards the sun-filled, cloudless blue sky, regardless of the weather or time of the year!

The set of three paintings depicts a scene of "Xanadu". Originally inspired by a Classical Chinese poem, “The Peach Blossom Spring”, and the idea of an idyllic, peaceful place. It was created during the pandemic when many struggled with feelings of isolation and needed a place of solace and escape from daily troubles like "Xanadu". "Xanadu" was made in the traditional Chinese gongbi technique, using ink and pigments on rice paper. The process needed much care, focus, and attention to detail, and to obtain the desired depth of colour, over ten layers of ink were used to paint the elements in the painting and the background.
